Upon purchase, you will receive a password via email “Your Ticket Is Ready”. This password will be used to access the riddles once the event begins.
Reward And Start Date
The reward to the finder(s) of the medallion will be 25% of the revenue from total ticket sales, as well as any donations from our donors. 60% of the revenue from ticket sales will go to this year’s sponsored child, Hudson Roberts. The remaining 15% will go to the owners and operators of Medallion Mission and will cover expenses related to creating, advertising, and organizing this year’s medallion mission.
The event, hunt for the medallion, is estimated to begin in late spring of 2025. However, we wish to sell as many tickets as we can as this will help to raise awareness of our mission and future plans. Therefore, this may result in a delayed start date. The jackpot amount displayed on the homepage will be updated daily.
The Boundary
The general location of the hunt will take place in downtown Knoxville, TN. A riddle further refining the boundary of the hunt will be released prior to the event's start date.
Riddles
All riddles and clues are designed to be solved from publicly accessible areas only.
There are 6 main riddles, each uniquely tied to a physical location in the downtown Knoxville area. It’s possible that you may solve one or more of these riddles without having to go downtown.
Each of these 6 unique locations will have a secondary riddle associated with them. Some secondary riddles can be solved near the main riddle location, while others will require traveling a short distance by foot (though not too far) to solve them. The secondary riddles are designed to be solved downtown, not from home. Once solved, each secondary riddle will reveal a number. These numbers will collectively be used to guide the player(s) to the hidden medallion during the final stage of the hunt.
Riddle Release
Once the contest begins, riddles will be released weekly. Our goal is to release main riddles on Sundays and their associated secondary riddles on Fridays. This means it will take 6 weeks to release all 6 main riddles and secondary riddles.
A 7th riddle with two parts will be released in week 7 and week 8.
The first part of the 7th riddle will guide you to the general location of the hidden medallion.
The second part of the 7th riddle will direct you to the exact starting point needed in order to find the hidden medallion. This starting location is critical to finding the medallion.
Finding The Medallion
The medallion is on public property and can be found without any digging, excavation, or disturbance to the environment.
The numbers revealed by solving the secondary riddles will be used in the final leg of the hunt. These numbers will indicate the number of steps that you must take to reach the medallion. Once you know the starting location and the correct numbers, finding the medallion should be easy.
If no one has found the medallion by week 10, additional clues and hints will be released each week until the medallion is found.
